Ten days of Football   ∟ Match you will never forget (part two): Ole Gunnar Solskjaer │ Champions League Final.
[ How could I? That was the day I learnt not to ever give up on Manchester United. We’d been losing for 90 minutes, we had 3 minutes to save our treble dreams having already secured the Premiership and FA Cup. It seemed an almost impossible task, the colours of Bayern Munich had already been tied to the trophy but two corners later… No words can describe that feeling. Winning not only a game in the last 3 minutes but winning the Champions League, winning a treble. It captured everything I love about this club. They never say die. ]

Ten days of Football       ∟ Match you will never forget (Part one): Wales v Italy │ Millennium Stadium │ 2002
[No-one expected to win this game. Everything about that night was perfect. The stadium was full, the roof was closed and everything fell into place. Even when we were drawing at half time, the fans were ecstatic. “Shaddap you face” rang around the stadium. A draw was a good result but there was 45 minutes left to play. Utter disbelief, utter madness when Bellamy slid the ball past Buffon. It wasn’t luck, it was Wales outplaying Italy. Never have I felt so proud walking out of that stadium with my Welsh flag wrapped around me. Bellissimo!]

Ten days of Football             ∟ A player you respect from a rival team: Craig Bellamy
[A tiny bit biased considering he’s not only Welsh but he grew up around the corner from me. Always a threat. He’s cleaned up his act the last few years but his fiery temperament is still there for all to see. Never quiet, always something to moan about but always entertaining. I have a lot of respect for him]

Ten days of Football∟ A player you wish you could have seen:  Duncan Edwards │ Busby Babes │ 1953 - 1958
Whenever they’re playing in your town, be sure to get to that football ground. Take a lesson, come and see, football taught by Matt Busby. Oh Manchester, Manchester United. A bunch of bouncing Busby Babes, they deserved to be knighted.

Giggs gets past Vieira. Past Dixon, who comes back at him. It’s a wonderful run from Giggs! Sensational goal by Ryan Giggs.

Ten days of Football             ∟Favourite player from the past : Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
[Not only remembered for putting the ball in the German’s net but for his absolute loyalty to Manchester United. Super sub. Baby-faced Assassin. A true gentleman and while I don’t normally like using the word, a true legend. I wish more footballers were like him.]

Ten days of Football             ∟Favourite national team: Wales
[ I’m Welsh. They’re my team. Far from world beaters and not easy to support at times but the hope that one day our time will come drives me forward. Being a Manchester United supporter by day I joke that Wales balance me out. They ground me and there’s nothing more grounding than a cold night in an empty stadium but you know what? on a match day, there’s nowhere I’d rather be]
